Raw Banana Puris
We Indians love our puris. The kitchen looks festive when we see puris are being fried. These delicious deep-fried puffed pieces of bread are literally to die for when they are combined with your favourite gravy or sabji.
However, today’s recipe has a little twist to it. These are prepared using raw bananas and there is a healthy mix of three flours. It will give your taste buds a whole new experience. Yes, this banana flavoured poori recipe is a little spicy and sweet at the same time. These are a great accompaniment with your evening tea.

RAW BANANA PURIS
Ingredients :
- Raw bananas 3
- Wheat flour 2 cups
- Jowar flour 1 cups
- Rice flour 1 cup
- Coriander chopped 2 tbsp
- Kasur methi 1 tbsp
- 2 tbsp curd
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder ½ tsp
- Green chillies chopped 2
- Jaggery 1 tbsp
- White sesame seeds 2 tbsp
- Water for kneading the dough
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Method :
- Boil the raw bananas with skin on.
- Once softened mash the bananas
- Mix all the above ingredients to form a dough (dough should be tight, not too soft)
- Keep the oil to heat
- Flatten a small ball of dough on a plastic sheet with your finger-tips using a little water
- and shape into puri.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Keep gas on medium and deep fry the puri.
- Repeat the process with the rest of the dough.
- Fry till nice golden colour.
- Remove and drain on a paper towel to soak excess oil.
- Serve hot with tea.
