The FARM -TO-TABLE concept is catching up like never before and we know how challenging it can be for a city like Mumbai to bridge that gap, unless you grow your own veggies and herbs.
Ideally, food coming to your table within 24 hrs or less should be considered the best.
And it comes from a very conscious decision to dedicate this month’s concept to small farmers and to promote FARMERS’ MARKETS. These markets not only help you get better produce at a good price, but at the same time help the farmers earn their much deserved fair price for their crop.
This in-turn encourages them to produce great organic fruits and vegetables !
Adding on to the concept I would also like to share my memorable experience on the topic.
I was on an evening walk & happened to see this lovely plant with small green fruits. At first, didn’t recognize what fruit it was. I was in awe of the plant, I stood looking at it with bright eyes, little did I know the owner instantly would place a dozen of those fruits in my hands. Those were none other than Passion Fruits, specially handpicked for me straight from the plant (rather creeper). I was so happy that in less than 30 minutes this lovely glass with the gorgeous passion fruit mocktail was on my table to devour. Which of course I had rushed home to make !
What could be more FARM-TO-TABLE than this ? !!!
