Keto Diet
Hi friends
Lately two diets had caught my attention. And my increasing curiosity was getting the better of me. So, I included them in this month’s concept #DetoxInSpring and I also passed on the curiosity bug to you.
I am talking about Vegan & Keto Diets
So far we looked at Vegan recipes which included smoothies, juices and recipes with superfoods like quinoa etc. Vegan is a fairly simple way of eating vegetarian food. It is devoid of animal products whatsoever. The diet is a personal choice and could be a sustainable way of living.
On the other hand KETO diet is not that simple. This diet is predominantly high in fats and protein and very low in carbs. Expert guidance is necessary, otherwise it could have adverse effects on the body.
To find out more about KETO I decided to speak to a couple of my friends who are in the NUTRITION BUSINESS.
Sahil Sidhu & Kshitij Kumar Singh.
I have known Sahil from my Navy School days. He is the son of my good friend. Sahil is a professional health and fitness consultant and has clients present globally.
It is a very special bond I share with Mrs Sidhu (Sahil’s mother). My first ever teaching job was at the Navy School. We have known each other since those days, where I taught for almost 4 years. I remember how she used to always invite us to her home and treat us to all the lovely food. Everytime, I have been invited to her place it was either for a lavish lunch or dinner. I don’t remember leaving her house without eating a full-fledged meal.😊😊
A very loving and gentle person. She loves plants and had so many at her Navy home. The spacious balcony had a fantastic vibe (BTW all Navy homes have huge balconies as extensions to their sprawling homes.) We would sit there sipping tea and chatting for hours at length.
Whenever we get a chance to meet up, she reminisces about her Navy days and it brings back fond memories.
A few years ago after the retirement of her husband, the family moved to a different place. A complete Punjabi at heart and a complete foodie.
Few years ago, Mrs. Sidhu and her son started working on their vision of a disease-free world, a transformed world and started delivering Ketogenic food products within Mumbai and Ketogenic snacks all over India. To accomplish this vision they co-founded POWERED BY MOM’S KITCHEN
Sahil Sidhu by profession consults in health & fitness. He is a sports nutritionist and a personal trainer. He has shared testimonies from his clients on the insta page. You can look up.

KETO CLUB INDIA – Kshitij Kumar Singh
We also have a word from Kshitij Kumar Singh a sports nutritionist associated with KETO Club India. Here’s what he has to say :
“The keto diet was studied in the 20th century in connection with epilepsy. In 1920, the diet was first conceptualised for the epilepsy patients, and the subsequent study started. The study on keto foods and their effect on the epileptic patients was found to be very positive. The seizures reduced significantly even in the patients who did not respond to drugs, to begin with.
Keto or the ketogenic diet has become the new trend ever since LeBron James tried it. Nutritional ketosis is a state that is induced by keto foods or the keto diet. In ketosis, the body experiences a deficiency of glucose in the body and shifts to fat as its fuel source. The fat is broken down in the liver and converted to ketones. These ketones are then used by the body to produce energy.
What are the benefits of a keto diet or keto foods?
A keto diet not only helps you to reduce weight, but it also has a lot of health benefits. The ketogenic diet results in reduced blood sugar and insulin resistance. The keto diet has also been found to improve brain function and help with the balancing of the hormone levels. It is believed that the body goes through a complete reset.”

Note : DeliciouslyURS does not recommend following the KETO diet, unless it is done under expert/medical supervision.
Perfectly summed up. Hope the general audience will get to know more about this approach of Keto.
Thanks you Kshitij for collaborating with DeliciouslyURS for a topic which needs to be studied before application. Wish you all the best in your field of work.
Keto / Ketogenic food pattern should be simply termed as Correct Nutrition.
Not a diet, but as a lifestyle.
Slowly, world is understanding and starting to believe in science rather than myths and what a people in herd says.
Sahil that’s a great insight for people who are new to the concept. (That includes me) I was very curious to know about KETO since it is all over Instagram and other social media platforms. I have visited your instagram page and it looks very promising. Wishing you and Mrs Sidhu a successful path ahead in your venture.
