#DetoxInSpring – Take a break…
Sometimes along the way, our body tells us to stop. It simply cannot carry-on, it is breaking and ailing. It is constantly throwing signals and we keep ignoring, because the temptations take the better of us. (All of this has happened to me sigh…)
But, the moment we decide to bring that ONE much needed shift, things will eventually change for a better tomorrow.
With this one HOPE, I begin my concept of this month “detox in Spring”.
MY STORY 👇
The routine does take a toll on us…
As a child, I played basketball at school. I played the game for seven long years. Everyday as soon as school used to end at 3.15pm, we used to switch from school uniform into sports gear. And in the scorching afternoon heat we played, we fell, we got hurt, we tanned, but never did we complain. Back in those days we were so HAPPY.
Then as we grew up LIFE happened….
I used to skip breakfast to rush to college, gorge on fast foods, have too much coffee. And this rushing continued when I joined work life. Again skipped breakfast, gulped down several cups of teas from the dispensing machines which they keep in corporate offices (and which tasted awful🙄🙄), had irregular sleep patterns, in between all this there were life’s other ups and downs. All this had an adverse impact on my acidity and I used to be down with migraine frequently. Migraine leaves us feeling so beaten up.
After a while, on personal front life was good and so was health.
But then out of nowhere, a few years ago, I did take terribly ill and it was the lowest phase of my life. Lot of plans had to be put on hold, and I was unsure of how things will shape up, because I was feeling soo… weak.
Then I decided to make a conscious effort to heal from all this. I had started to take care of my diet. I put myself first, gave up on the fast foods, practiced yoga, chalked out an exercise regime under a personal trainer, switched to more of veg diet. (BTW…although a non-vegetarian, red meat has never been on my plate.)
This change in lifestyle did help me spring back to a GREAT extent.
And now, recently when I heard about VEGANISM, I was curious to know how it worked. So, I did a little reading on the topic and instantly, wanted to give it a TRY and so I DID – it has NO DAIRY – NO EGGS – NO HONEY basically it is a plant-based diet, devoid of all animal products.
My experience with the diet was amazing.
It does make you feel light and rejuvenated.
When I say you will feel light and rejuvenated, I MEAN IT because I have tried it.
Although, I have barely begun I am feeling quite good already !! It is all about MIND OVER MATTER. And the sooner we adapt to change, the better.
Whether you’re a long time vegan OR considering a plant-based diet for the first time, OR you just want to include more veggies, be sure you will love these delicious vegan recipes.
