A fizzy summer drink made using the very cooling Kokum. Kokum means mangosteen. It’s a tropical fruit, widely used in Indian cuisine for its sharp tangy flavor. The fruit comes with many benefits, one among them is that Kokum is extremely cooling in nature. After the fleshy portion of the mangosteen fruit is sun-dried we get kokum which is salted and preserved for later use. The flavours of all the seafood are beautifully enhanced by adding just a few pieces of this fruit.
This recipe has only a few steps and is prepared in a jiffy. A few pieces of the sundried kokum or mangosteen are needed to put together a tall glass of this refreshing coastal beverage.
