Caramel Makhana

Caramel Makhana

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups Makhana
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • A pinch of salt

 

Method :

  • Heat a thick-bottomed pan add the sugar and the water.
  • Melt & carmalise the sugar till it turns a little dark shade of brown. (Be careful not to burn the sugar).
  • Once sugar caramelizes add in the salt.
  • Then put the makhana in a pan and and ensure the caramel coats all the makhanas evenly.
  • Take it out in a big bowl and once they are cool enough to handle, separate the makhanas (otherwise they will become one big lump).

Treat yourself to a very crisp ready to eat snack. Prepared in minutes.  (& if you love caramel popcorn like I do, you will be a very happy person after eating these.)
